Odin Rooting Failure - Please Help

I was trying to root my old Samsung Galaxy S I9000 with Odin3 v.1.83. The phone was picked up and I opened the CF-Root-xx-xeu-xxjpy.tar file under the pda. I believe the phone's USB debugging mode was off. When I clicked start the process failed.

<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

The phone did not reboot (auto reboot was checked), so I pulled out the battery, but when I reinserted the battery and powered, the phone showed a black screen with a icon that looks like a phone and a computer with a orange triangle in between (see photo).
I tried to install the original software (pda, csc and Phone checked with the right files)[no pit file] with the same error.
Is there any way I can fix the phone, the phone can only boot into download mode, recovery and normal boot modes cannot be accessed, the phone instantly shows the black screen when it is powered on.
Any help please. THANK YOU.
