The Android One program has seemingly worked out quite well for both Google and the participating OEMs. It was originally meant to be restricted to only low-end devices, but then we saw Google transition that goal to Android Go. We've seen some decent mid-range devices and even the high-end Nokia 8 Sirocco as well. Motorola has previously released their first Android One smartphone, which is a variant of the Moto X4, and now we have some certification photos and specs of what could be the company's second entry, the Motorola One Power.
Those of us in the community who are tired of slow updated and bloated OEM ROMs have taken to really enjoy the Android One program. It's not as if Motorola stuffs too many bloated apps in their phones, but they can drop the ball when it comes to timely updates. So it was a pleasant surprise when we saw a leaked render of a smartphone with the name Motorola One Power.
A month later, another leak of the device made its rounds throughout the Android community with this one giving us hands-on photos of the device in almost every angle. The photos of this device clearly matched the initial render that was leaked a month earlier, which serviced to solidify a new smartphone from Motorola. Now, the device with the model number XT1942-1 has been registered in China through their TENAA certification system. That gives us details of its hardware specs and a few more photos to look at.
The certification listing says the phone has an 8 core SoC rated at 1.8GHz. Assuming this is a Snapdragon chipset, that means the device could be using the Snapdragon 450,
